WALT Labs key role in this project was to help our client, Oerca Inc, move their infrastructure into GCP.
The Challenge
Oerca Inc reached out to us after they had another company move its infrastructure into GCP and wanted WALT Labs to do an audit on the migration, focusing on security. Once we completed the audit, we found that all of their Windows servers had Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) available externally.
The Solution
We firewalled all external access to internal cloud resources, including RDP. We set up a Pritunl bastion node to allow for Virtual private network access to their cloud resources and lock down the RDP access from external sources.
The Results
Utilizing the combination of a bastion server and the robust option available within the GCP VPC Network stack and firewall rules, we were able to design and implement a secure, and easy to utilize access infrastructure. By using the option available within the GCP platform the solution is easily expandable to encompass future growth and needs in the future.
